Introducing a character

What's the appropriate amount of description that should be used to introduce a character? I have two short paragraphs to introduce someone who becomes a key character. Is it enough?

Extract:

So enthralled was I in the pages of my text book that I completely missed the guy with the same height and build as my brother who I walked straight into; totally face planted into his chest. I mumbled an apology which caught in my throat as I looked up. Fair skinned and dark haired, the guy could have passed for one of those modern-day movie vampires – without the ridiculous twinkling. His black t-shirt was taut over his chest and slightly hidden beneath a grey hoodie and a black leather jacket.

The look on his face screamed get-the-hell-out-of-my-way! So, I scuttled to one side and allowed him to pass; the same thing that I saw many others do without hesitation. Watching after the guy, I could do nothing but wonder who he was. I didn’t recognise him.
